Cipherpod Zero is based upon the Original Cipherpod, but is from a promotional run. It has a completely clear case so you can see every light and every wire. Please note that while you can see every component, reverse engineering the device remains against policy; profit margins are thin, let us keep our cups of coffee!
- Good: Replacement of your device if it’s lost or damaged is easy, so when it arrives all passwords created will be the same as they were.
- Bad: The standard device, while powerful, is not compliant with FIPS federal requirements which require RFID key authentication and unique keys. The Cipherpod Black is not more powerful or “better”, it’s just made with these requirements in mind.
