Description

The Cipherpod Black is uniquely keyed, so that in the unlikely event someone over the Internet manages to overcome the onboard security and deconstruct the Cipherpod Original’s HMAC key, these devices will be unaffected.  This is for two Cipherpod Blacks with the same security key so that you can tuck away one as backup is case the original is lost, stolen or damaged.

• Good: Every unit is uniquely keyed
• Bad: If this device is destroyed, lost or stolen, you will never be able to reproduce the passwords generated by it, and we do not keep records of devices sold so we cannot provide a replacement. If you encrypt a computer or hard drive with this unit and it’s lost or destroyed, the data is absolutely, assuredly and completely unrecoverable, ever.
